The IMEAS Repairing & grinding Cabins (RC) machines are built to precisely process the surface of cold and hot rolled stainless steel and stainless metals to achieve thickness tolerance and perfect flatness as well as a nice appearance, such as finishing No.3 ("coarse", with abrasive grains from G60 to G150) and No.4 ("fine", abrasive grain from G180 and beyond).

They are availble in a variety of configurations that may fit even the most demanding production environment, including top (RCS) and bottom units (RCI), wet and dry versions for either plates and coils.

The key parts of the project are a very heavy and stable frame, designed to absorb vibrations and to prevent their transmission to the surface of the material, and a solid working unit able to support motors of up 250 kW, delivering an impressive power-to-width ratio. The use of an extra-long abrasive belt contributes to increase the production time by minimizing the belt-change time.

RCS and RCI features include:

  • High power-to-width ratio for greater stock removal
  • High productivity
  • Extra length of the abrasive belt
  • Fine adjustment of stock removal through Billy-roll positioning system (electronically controlled)
  • Ceramic-covered Billy-roll for increased lifespan
  • Pop-up system on counter pressure roll for optimal results on both coils and plates
  • Increased size of feeding rolls to deliver high torque during the process, including the special gearboxes developped by IMEAS
  • Long-life grease lubricated bearings for minimal maintenance
  • Adjustable belt tracking photocells position for different abrasive belts widths
  • Wide screen with touch panel graphical user interface
