Slide Pad System, for perfect sanded surfaces

The IMEAS Slide Pad System™ (SPS) had been developed in cooperation with SIA Abrasives to provide an easy and effective way to maintain the consumable part of the sanding platen, traditionally made of a combination of soft rubber and anti-friction graphite cloth. Replacing this component was a very time consuming manual activity which could lead to quality issues as the graphite cloth has to be properly and equally tensioned for optimal results.

The Slide Pad System solves the problem introducing a consumable pad which combine a support medium, the soft rubber and a strip of graphite cloth, all precisely glued and trimmed. The pad is hosted in a specially crafted sanding shoe of new generation, 100% compatible with all IMEAS machines. This means that even legacy installations can be upgraded to use the Slide Pad System.
