SuperMirror PV, for specular surfaces

The IMEAS SuperMirror™ machine model PV is used to polish sheets and plates of stainless metals up to a mirror, through a process called "Super No.8" which is characterized by:

• homogeneous and non-directional surface finish
• high reflectivity (>80° Gloss)
• low roughness (Ra<0,05 micron).

The process is carried out by means of a suitable activated solution distributed on the surface to be treated through special rotating buffing "pads". A filtration system (optional) recovers the polishing compound and filters it from the metal particles removed during the process then the clean liquid is resent to the machine. A washing and drying unit (optional) allows preparing the surface of the sheet for further coating with protective film.

This machines is designed in "Gantry style" and features a fixed table and a mobile head that holds the vertical spindles and the relevant motors. The SuperMirror™ PV is available in several dimensions and spindle arrangement and fits particularly well for big plates, such as press-plates.

A special version designed to recover and recondition of press-plates, as well as to mirror-finish them is also available.

* Sheet/plates must be flat to achieve optimal results. BA stainless steel is suggested for optimal productivity.
